Jean-Pierre Pomarico and Pierre-Louis Kesner, the owners of Antoine Restaurant on the waterfront, invite you to the new Philipsburg. A new boardwalk along the sea and a new Front Street with wide sidewalks and plentiful palm trees make the area a pedestrian paradise. Stop in for a delightful lunch and have a light salad or sandwiches, but remember that all the fine and traditional French dishes on our entire menu are available. The beach bar is also open so you can enjoy a cool drink on a lounge chair in the shade of one of our many palm trees. Lunch, light or large, is also available at our outdoor, thatch-roofed tables on the beach. Dinner starts with our valet parking service that allows you to drop your car off at our front door. It becomes even better with the low lights, soft breezes, and wonderful views of Great Bay. It becomes spectacular as Jean-Pierre brings out the finest dishes from chef Pierre-Louis and pairs them with his extensive wine collection.

As you can see, the views over our beach are spectacular and the restaurant appointments are beautiful, but spare a few moments for the works of local artists exhibited on our walls. There is always something happening in Philipsburg and the holidays and carnival have even more. The new palms are decorated and a gala festival takes over on New Year's Eve, ending with a fabulous fireworks display in Great Bay.

Feast on the best Lobster Thermidor on the island, according to the NY Times. We do all the work and you just enjoy fresh, local lobster in a rich sauce. Our Duck Montmorency features the finest duck in a sauce with cherries and cherry brandy. Jean-Pierre is French and Italian, so an Italian influence creeps into the traditional French cuisine. Seafood lovers will appreciate the Seafood Linguini: the freshest of local seafood in a creamy sauce over a bed of linguini. The Farfalle al Vitello features the tenderest veal, sautéed with fresh mushrooms over bow tie pasta. Our menu will tempt you and our wine list will thrill you, but remember to check out the different specials that Pierre-Louis prepares each night. Antoine Restaurant is on Front Street, pleasing patrons since 1978. Everybody loves compliments: We have been enjoying the fare at Antoine since the Captain and his wife opened the doors back in, I think, the late 70's although it might have been in the early 80's. This is usually the highlight of our dining in St. Maarten/St. Martin and John Pierre and Pierre have continued and surpassed the excellence this restaurant has always been known for. I'm so glad to see it being re-discovered ..... they've made such a contribution to the Front St. beach area and they really do deserve to be recognized for providing one of the better dining experiences on St. Maarten. If you really want a treat, try the lobster thermidor or the rack of lamb and finish off your evening with a shared dessert souffle. Positively sinful!!                             ... Pat
